VELVET REVOLVER's SLASH, SCOTT WEILAND Name Their Favorite JOHN LENNON Songs
December 3, 2005StarTribune.com recently asked members of VELVET REVOLVER to name their favorite John Lennon song and state why:
Slash: "'Mother'. Because it's so personal, it's screaming out pain, it's very effective."
Scott Weiland: "'How Do You Sleep'. It's amazing how that guy can go from writing about love in such a touching and beautiful way and quickly traverse into a rant. He's obviously talking about his old writing partner [Paul McCartney]."
VELVET REVOLVER finished touring in support of their 2004 debut album, "Contraband", this past summer with a handful of Ozzfest appearances. The group, who have a few East Coast gigs lined up in late December/early January, are expected to begin recording their sophomore effort shortly for release in 2006. "Contraband" has sold 1.8 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
